Koji

Celebrated for his cutting edge style and flawless color technique, hair stylist Koji Toyoda’s undeniable craft is not surprising considering his extensive training in the art of hair design and color. Born and raised in Japan, Koji comes from a long line of renowned Japanese hairstylists. Beginning his professional career in Japan at the age of 18, Koji studied among the top hairstylists in Japan, becoming an established artist himself by the age of 20. During his six year stint in Tokyo, Koji worked in salons and freelanced, perfecting his skills on celebrities and musicians alike. Recognized by magazines and television programs for the most fashionable hairstyles of the year, Koji was praised for promotional work with Christian Dior and Shu Uemura. In search of a greater challenge, Koji moved to Los Angeles where he began his professional career in America at a prestigious salon in West Hollywood. Before long, Koji gained national recognition and acclaim for the creation of original hair designs for celebrities and models. In 2004, Koji opened his own hair studio—KOJI TOYODA AT KINARA—that flourished for 7 years. In 2011, Koji decided to open his own salon in Sunset Plaza to focus entirely on hair. Says Koji of his new salon—“I think I created a perfect environment to do the best work of my career.”

Takeshi

Originally from Japan, master stylist and colorist Takeshi spent the first 5 years of his career in Tokyo. He moved to Los Angeles in 1986 and has been styling here every since. Through his 25 years of experience, he has mastered a variety of looks from natural hair to the latest in vogue styles. His repertoire ranges from cuts to color to natural looking permanents. His clients range from the super curly to the super straight and everything in between. There isn’t a hair texture or hairstyle that Takeshi hasn’t mastered. After co-owning his own successful salon for over 10 years, Takeshi decided to make the move to give himself a new challenge. With the new space, Takeshi is able to offer even more services, amenities, and customer satisfaction to his clients. His clients love the new environment and have already made themselves at home at the new salon. With all his knowledge and experience, he is still very passionate about styling and educating the next generation of stylists.

Eugene

Los Angeles native, Eugene Seav would always experiment with his any willing participant.  This grew into a passion for the beauty industry when he realized how much the power of a blow dryer, curling iron, and a few bobby pins could change the self-esteem and persona of a woman.  The feeling of happiness he got from his transformed friends and family led to his decision to enroll at Paul Mitchell. At Paul Mitchell he was finally learning and doing what had become a passion for him.  After graduating, he delved into the freelance world of hair, gaining experience in editorial fashion shoots and film sets.  Although he enjoyed the excitement of freelance work, Eugene wanted the opportunity to further his skills in cut and color under a master stylist.  With extensive training and knowledge from both Koji and Takeshi, Eugene is now focusing on cut, color, and style in the salon environment. With a keen sense for the fashion-forward and intense creativity, Eugene is ready to become next generation’s star stylist.

Miwa

Miwa moved to Los Angeles from Japan in the 90s and immediately enrolled in cosmetology school. Since then she has been trained under master stylist Takeshi and worked at his salon for many years perfecting her skills as a stylist. Through the years, she has developed a great reputation with her clients. Although she has a huge range as a stylist, her expertise lies in men’s grooming, scalp treatments, and Japanese hair straightening.

Teri

Teri's passion for makeup and skincare propelled her to pursue a career as a makeup artist more than a decade ago. With professional training in all aspects of makeup, Teri has been able to build a freelance career in the fashion and entertainment industries, as well as with private clients. Teri’s passion for beauty also extends into beautiful lashes and brows. With extensive training and experience in brow shaping, lash lifts, and lash extensions, Teri is able to provide an array of services to meet your needs. She also specializes in Keratin treatments and is able to transform frizzy, dull, unmanageable hair into smooth, lustrous locks.

Sakurako

Born and raised in Japan, Sakurako started her career as a professional dancer and eventually transitioned Ito hair. With a strong understanding of the Tokyo style, she has spent most of her career doing music videos, Chanel fashion shows and event styling, but she truly does it all. Her keen understanding of the entertainment side of hair makes her the perfect choice for special events and weddings.

Barry

Born in Los Angeles with a passion for art, Barry Morse started a successful art career after recieving his masters in art and film from Cal Arts. Wanting to help others express themselves, Barry entered the world of hair 25 years ago training under Koji. He has gone on to be certified by the Michelle Vincent academy of barbering and hairstyling, Cezanne, and Hairskeen in the arts of nonsurgical hair replacement, non-formaldehyde keratin treatments, hairpieces, and a variety of hair extension techniques.
